The Sabarna Roy Choudhury Paribar Parishad on August 1, 2001 moved to the Calcutta High Court seeking Justice over the matter of baselessly regarding Job Charnock as the founder of Kolkata and celebreting the city s birthday on 24 th August wasting huge amount of public money. The appeal is a public interest litigation where eminent historians, doctors, professors, journalists all have seek the truth of history. The court will hear the matter from time to time.
The Calcutta high Court in the meantime formed a historical commission to find out the truth about the foundation story of Kolkata. The commission has submitted its 9 page report to the Hon'ble court. The commission comprised of five noted historians. They were Dr. Nimai Sadhan Bose, Prof. Sushil Chowdhury, Prof. pradip Sinha, Prof. Barun De and Prof. Arun Dasgupta.
The court on May 16 TH, 2003 on its historical Verdict cancelled the name of Job Charnock as Kolkata founder and also the birth date. At last we are free from the colonialism.

VIDYADHARESHWAR SHIVA TEMPLE
The foundation laying stone of Vidyadhareshwar Shiva Temple was unveiled by Swami Purnatmananda at Halisahar on 15 th of August, 2007. The temple has been built in memory of Vidyadhar Roy Choudhry who was a great zamindar of the family. The project has been undertaken by Sri Monoranjan Roy Choudhury on behalf of the Parishad. All family members are requested to donate generously for the development of the prestigious Temple.
